     Love cares about the individual. Love encourages. Love rebukes. Love walks in truth. And so, in love, John wrote a third epistle before ha was exiled to Patmos, where he penned the book of Revelation. It was around A.D. 90.

How to Study 3 John (NASB)

  1. Read this short letter through one. Mark every reference to the author in one color and every reference to the recipients in another. When you finish, list on a paper what your learn about each.

  2. Read the book again, marking each of the key words: truth, good, evil.

  3. Other names are mentioned. Note who they are and what is said about each person. See what your learn as you observe the contrast between these people.

  4. Make a list of (or mark distinctively) the instructions and warnings John gives in this epistle.
